Drawing-Based CNC Manufacturing / Engineering Application

CNC Machined Liquid Cooling Components

Grandmec supports drawing-based manufacture of cold plates, coolant manifolds, distribution blocks and thermal interface components. We review materials, channel geometry, sealing surfaces, finishing and agreed test requirements before production.

Application Scope

Liquid Cooling & Thermal Management

Sealing interfaces, flatness, internal passages, cleaning and test requirements must be clear before production.

Component Opportunities

Typical Components, Reviewed to the Drawing

The following examples describe component scope, not off-the-shelf products or evidence of a completed customer programme.

Aluminium or copper cold plates

02

Cooling manifolds and distribution blocks

03

Thermal interface plates

04

Project-specific pipeline components and coordinated assemblies where confirmed

Engineering Review

Engineering Points Before Manufacture

A drawing review is more useful when the functional interfaces and approved acceptance requirements are clear. Engineering design consultancies can use the same route for prototype iteration and transfer into repeat production.

  • Define flatness, port and thread standards
  • Specify burr removal and cleanliness requirements
  • Confirm the joining method and accessible inspection features
  • Agree pressure and leak-test conditions for the actual design rather than applying one universal rating
Requirements at a Glance
Component scope
Cold plates, coolant manifolds, distribution blocks and thermal interface components made to approved drawings.
Material
Aluminium or copper where specified; final grade and condition are confirmed against the drawing.
Critical inputs
Channel and closure design, sealing interfaces, cleanliness requirements, quantity and agreed pressure/leak-test specification.
Batch approach
Prototype, pilot and small-to-medium repeat batches reviewed against the approved requirement.
Drawing inputs
CAD model and dimensioned drawing, with revision status, material, quantity and critical features.
Inspection
Critical dimensions, documentation and acceptance criteria confirmed for the individual project.
Limitations
Tolerance, process route, finish, testing and delivery timing remain project-specific until technical review.

Liquid Cooling & Thermal Management FAQ

Answers are shown below for direct review. Final feasibility follows the approved drawing and project-specific requirements.

What information is needed for a cold-plate quotation?+

Send the CAD model and dimensioned drawing, material, channel and closure design, sealing interfaces, quantity, cleanliness requirements and any agreed pressure or leak-test specification. Thermal design targets and validation responsibilities should also be identified.

How are channel geometry and testing handled?+

Channel geometry is manufactured to the approved design. Pressure and leak-test method, conditions, acceptance criteria and reporting scope are defined for the actual component; they are not assumed from a universal rating.
