Drawing-Based CNC Manufacturing / Engineering Application

CNC Machining for Automation & Robotics

Grandmec supports machine builders, robotics integrators and engineering teams with custom brackets, gripper parts, fixtures, shafts and mechanical interfaces. Prototype and repeat-batch requirements are reviewed against the component drawing and assembly function.

Application Scope

Automation & Robotics

Assembly stack-up, weight, access and frequent design revisions can make an apparently simple component difficult to release.

Engineering Review

Engineering Points Before Manufacture

A drawing review is more useful when the functional interfaces and approved acceptance requirements are clear. Engineering design consultancies can use the same route for prototype iteration and transfer into repeat production.

  • Explain mating parts and load direction
  • Identify critical fits and alignment features
  • Provide the current revision schedule
  • Use these details to guide process planning, datum selection and inspection
Requirements at a Glance
Component scope
Custom brackets, gripper parts, fixtures, shafts and mechanical interfaces.
Material and surface
Specified by the design owner and reviewed with the actual component function.
Critical inputs
Mating interfaces, operational loads, alignment dimensions, surface requirements and quantity.
Batch approach
Prototype, pilot and small-to-medium repeat batches reviewed against the approved requirement.
Drawing inputs
CAD model and dimensioned drawing, with revision status, material, quantity and critical features.
Inspection
Critical dimensions, documentation and acceptance criteria confirmed for the individual project.
Limitations
Tolerance, process route, finish, testing and delivery timing remain project-specific until technical review.

Automation & Robotics FAQ

Answers are shown below for direct review. Final feasibility follows the approved drawing and project-specific requirements.

What should a gripper or fixture brief include?+

Provide the part drawing, mating interfaces, material, surface requirements and quantity. Identify alignment dimensions and operational loads so the design owner and manufacturer can agree the critical checks.

How should frequent revisions be managed?+

Provide a controlled drawing or model revision and identify the assembly features that must remain stable. Process planning and inspection should follow the approved revision, with changes agreed before production.
